Job description

Pediatric MD or DO Opportunity

The Pediatric Physician is a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team responsible for meeting the objectives of our facility's programs. The Physician will provide comprehensive clinical care for all patients under the supervision of the Medical Director and according to written protocols.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Obtain medical, social, and developmental histories of infants and children extending into young adulthood.
2. Perform physical exams and immunizations on all infant and children patients.
3. Provide health education and counseling on pediatric services.
4. Complete all relevant forms, including disability, work restrictions, and health status forms.
5. Manage all acute and chronic illnesses according to community standards.
6. Consult with and refer to appropriate specialists for high-risk or complex patients.
7. Provide consultations to other physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and medical assistants.

Additional Details

• Required: Active California Medical License (M.D. or D.O.) or in the process of acquiring it.
• Active DEA License.
• Board eligible or board certified in Family Medicine (not Internal Medicine).
• Scope: Newborns to age 20.
• Preference: Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Active Medi-Cal providers.
• Open to new graduates and experienced providers.
• We do not provide Visa sponsorship.
• Eligible for state and federal loan repayment programs.

Schedule

• Full-time only; part-time not considered.
• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• No night or weekend call.
• 20-24 patients per day.
• EMR system: Amazing Charts or paper charts with electronic prescriptions, depending on the site.
