Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an experienced Level III Staff RN for the Pediatrics-Hematology/Oncology unit in Downey, CA. This per diem daytime role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care, leading teams, and developing individualized patient plans in a supportive oncology setting.

Ideal candidates will have 1 year of pediatric acute or ambulatory care experience, California RN licensure, BLS, and PALS.

Qualifications

• 1 year recent (within last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in pediatric acute care or pediatric ambulatory care.
• RN license in California required.
• Pediatric chemotherapy/biotherapy provider or ONS certification required.
• BLS certification required; PALS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process.
• Uphold Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures.
• Lead the healthcare team and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Develop and contribute to individualized plans of care.
• Monitor patient progress and revise care plans as needed.
• Ensure patient safety and optimal pain control.
• Document accurately in patient charts.
• Discuss patient findings with physicians and healthcare team members.
• Act as a resource and mentor to new employees and team members.
