Position Details

Position: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
Shift: Full-time/Rotating
Location: University of Maryland Medical Center

Qualifications

• A Master of Science degree with completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
• Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Nursing, certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the area of specialization.
• Minimum of one year pediatric nursing experience; new grads with PICU RN experience are welcome to apply.
• Physician Assistant applicants must have completed a PA program and obtained a Maryland PA license.
• CRNP Pediatric Acute Care certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnosis and treatment in collaboration with physician colleagues.
• Ensure continuity of patient care by facilitating communication among the healthcare team, patients, and families.
• Integrate relevant research and best practices into patient care.

Additional Information

The PICU NP team provides 7-day/week and rotating night coverage for pediatric critical care patients with various medical and surgical diagnoses, including post-operative cardiothoracic surgery and transplant patients.
