The Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Children’s Wisconsin (CW), seeks a board certified / board eligible physician to join our Division of Pediatric Nephrology. Rank is commensurate with experience.
POSITION
- Join a dedicated and dynamic team comprised of 8 faculty, 3 advanced practice providers, one associate professor of Physiology and Pediatrics, and a multidisciplinary staff.
- Practice opportunity is performing general nephrology clinical service along with the training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Seeking a physician with training or clinical emphasis in transplant nephrology. In addition to clinical care responsibilities, the successful candidate will work with transplant program leadership in program administration, quality improvement, national network participation, and research.
About The Division Of Nephrology
The subspecialty group is comprised of 7 full time faculty and 3 advanced practice providers actively engaged in all missions of the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children’s Wisconsin including clinical care, education, academic scholarship, and community service. The program is supported by a clinical team including pediatric nurses, dietitians, clinical psychology, renal pharmacists, and social work dedicated to patient care in Nephrology and Hypertension, Kidney Transplant, and Dialysis. The program supports an ACGME accredited Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship. The Children’s Wisconsin kidney transplant program is supported by a dedicated nurse practitioner and expert nurse coordinators caring for the child and family throughout the entire transplant journey. Key partnerships with other highly skilled medical and surgical providers, including those at Children's Wisconsin, Froedtert, and Versiti Blood Research Institute enhance the patient experience and provide support to the child, families, and living donor/donor families before, during, and after treatment.
The program also supports an active in-hospital dialysis unit staffed by pediatric nurses providing both acute and chronic dialysis services and working in collaboration with the transplant program to provide seamless care across the continuum of chronic kidney disease. Clinical research and quality improvement activities include long-standing participation in national collaborative studies, e.g. SCOPE (CHA), NAPRTCS, CKiD, CURE GN, PNRC, ICONIC (neonatal dialysis), WE-ROCK, and the Neonatal Kidney Collaborative, all of which are supported by a dedicated nephrology research coordinator.

In 2022- 2023, CW and CSG had eight specialties ranked by
US News & World Report: cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and GI surgery, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, pulmonology, and urology. With over 70 specialties and 700 providers, CSG has an annual net patient revenue of ~$200 million. Last year, CSG providers had 688,375 specialty care visits. The hospital has a Pediatric Dialysis Unit dedicated solely to the care of pediatric patients with end-stage renal failure. A full range of acute dialysis services are provided in the PICU and NICU areas. The Kidney Transplant program has been active since 1986 and is CMS and UNOS accredited.
The Children’s Wisconsin Research Institute (CRI) represents the most powerful concentration of pediatric research in the region, including more than 1,000 active clinical trials and over $68.6 million in active Federal grants. CRI advances pediatric medical research for children in Wisconsin and beyond. Focusing on translational research, The CRI takes discoveries from the laboratory and converts them to new therapies at patients' bedsides.
Children’s Wisconsin provides primary care, specialty care, urgent care, emergency care, community health services, foster and adoption services, child and family counseling, child advocacy services and family resource centers. Children’s has invested more than $130 million in the community to improve the health status of children through medical care, advocacy, education, and pediatric medical research.
