Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) in Pediatrics: General in Cartersville, GA. This full-time role supports physicians and PAs, rooms patients, records vital signs, documents in the EHR, administers medications, and assists with procedures. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.

to 5 p.m., 40 hours weekly, on-site. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a Medical Assisting diploma, and MA certification within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assisting diploma from a nationally recognized accredited program.
• Must obtain MA Certification within 6 months of hire from CMA (AAMA), NCMA (NCCT), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), or CMAC (AMCA).

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs.
• Document information in the electronic medical record (EHR).
• Administer medications and assist with procedures and treatments.
• Provide patient education and stock exam rooms.
• Verify that lab, x-ray or procedure reports are available for the provider.
• Perform required computer functions including medication reconciliation, coding of procedures, order entry and scheduling appointments.
