Job summary

Mission Hospital in North Carolina seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Pediatric ICU (PICU) to lead nursing care, assess needs, plan and document care for patients and families.

You will collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, evidence-based treatment, educate families, and support staff in high-acuity pediatric care, aligning with our surgical recovery and sepsis-early detection initiatives.

Qualifications

• RN license required and current.
• BSN or ADN from an accredited program.
• 1 year of relevant nursing experience in PICU preferred.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of care for a patient group based on acuity and staffing.
• Provide direct care, evaluate outcomes and adjust care plans.
• Collaborate with patients, families and interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients, families and staff as needed.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pediatrics ICU (PICU) unit, you will provide leadership which facilities the delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. You will utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.

• You will oversee the delivery of patient care for a group of patients and direct patient are based on patient acuity and staff availability.
• You will provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes and adjust nursing care processes indicated to adhere to legal, ethical and competency level of staff.
• You will collaborate and consult with patients, colleagues and interdisciplinary team members to achieve desired outcomes.
• You will provide education for self, staff, colleagues, patients and/or families.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
