Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to join our team for 7pm-7am shifts. You will manage airway support, closely monitor neurological and cardiac status, respond promptly to complications, provide initial wound care, and ensure patient stability after surgery while collaborating with the surgical and anesthesia teams.

This role includes on-call availability during select non-business hours and two call shifts every six weeks, with a requirement to be within 30

Qualifications

  • One year of RN experience required.
  • PACU/critical care experience preferred.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current NC RN licensure (eNLC may apply).
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIH certifications required.
  • National certification in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to complications or adverse events.
  • Provide initial wound care to the surgical site.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Shifts: This position is 7pm-7am.

Call: 2 call shifts in a 6 week period. Must be within 30 minutes of facility if called back in.

As a PACU Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in the immediate post-operative care of surgical patients. Your responsibilities will include managing airway support, closely monitoring neurological and cardiac status, and responding promptly to any complications or side effects. You will provide initial wound care to the patients' surgical site and ensure patient stability during recovery. You will collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia team. This role includes on-call availability during select non-business hours which will be discussed in the interview.

Qualifications
  • Required Experience: One year of RN experience
  • Preferred Experience: PACU/Critical Care and or strong hospital nursing experience
  • Required Education: Associates Degree in Nursing
  • Required License: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON.
  • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIH
  • Preferred Certifications: National Certification in area of specialty
