Job summary

The Valley Health System's Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas seeks a registered nurse to provide safe, competent care in a busy hospital setting, including maternity, emergency, and cardiovascular services. The facility is a Chest Pain with PCI facility and a Primary Stroke Center, aligned with UHS Service Excellence standards.

You will lead and support the healthcare team, delivering patient-centered care and contributing to ongoing education and development programs under the UHS umbrella.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and completion of a Specialty course/ or equivalent within 6 months of hire. BSN preferred.
• One-year acute care experience or successful completion of an approved specialty course within 6 months of hire.
• Current RN license in the State of Nevada. Current BLS Certification. Current ACLS Certification (adult patients), current PALS Certification (pediatric patients) or current NRP Certification (Neonatal patients) as required by department.
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care.
• Oversees and guides employees that are under his/her supervision.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

BSN preferred

Interim Nevada RN license (for RN graduate)
