Job summary

Carle Health in Champaign, IL is seeking a Pediatrics Certified Medical Assistant / Registered Medical Assistant to support exam rooms, patient intake, and routine administrative tasks in a busy pediatric practice. The role requires BLS within 30 days and CMA/CCMA/RMA certifications, along with a high school diploma.

Previous MA experience is preferred, with responsibilities spanning patient info, vitals, injections, urine tests, and coordinating referrals.

Qualifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA).
CMA/CCMA/RMA certifications or equivalent preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous medical assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Room patients and collect pertinent information including chief complaint and history.
Complete telephone communications with patients, families, pharmacies, and facilities.
Gather, update and maintain patient information via telephone according to policy.
Perform administrative duties: check-in/check-out, scheduling, verifications, referrals.
Perform clinical procedures as directed including injections and urine tests.
Provide patients with written instructions and education materials as directed.
Document actions in the EMR and coordinate with care teams as needed.
