Job summary

At Cincinnati Children's, a leading pediatric hospital, we seek a General Pediatrician (MD/DO) for a full-time position in the General Pediatrics department. The role includes day shifts, 40 hours per week, with both inpatient and outpatient patient care.

The successful candidate will hold an active Ohio medical license or be eligible, and participate in teaching medical students and residents as part of our academic mission.

Qualifications

• M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree.
• Current active medical license issued by the State of Ohio or eligible for license.
• Appropriate medical credentialing through the Medical Staff Services offices.
• Completion of all required pre-employment activities.
• Clinical Instructor appointment or eligibility.
• Prior clinical practice experience may be required based on area of clinical specialty.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care - Participate in safe, effective and compassionate patient care. Examine patients to determine presence of disease and plan of care.
• Perform procedures, collect data, analyze date and make decisions regarding patient care, including initial assessment and discharge planning.
• Evaluate and modify patient-specific plans for care based on assessment; may work in inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
• Provide consultation for patients in emergency, admitted, or outpatient clinics.
• Safety and Continuous Improvement - Continuously assess and improve service performance; ensure compliance with safety and integrity standards.
• Training and Education - Teach medical students and residents; participate in lectures, seminars and conferences; contribute to scholarly activities.
• Scholarly Activity - Participate in clinical research and publications; present findings and assist in program development.
• Regulatory Compliance - Adhere to ethical standards, policies and JCAHO guidelines; ensure ongoing education and compliance.
