Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Medicine is required.
• Currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of Idaho is required.
• Ability to receive clearance through the National Practitioner Database.
• Knowledge of preventive and primary care for low-income and special needs populations.
• Experience with rural community health care is desirable.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills; collaborative care approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular thorough exams for newborns and children.
• Evaluate sick children and document symptoms.
• Make informed diagnoses and treat accordingly.
• Prescribe medications and give administration instructions.
• Order and interpret lab tests as needed.
• Administer vaccines per governmental guidelines.
• Treat injuries and refer to specialists when needed.
• Advise parents on diet, exercise, and preventive care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and stay current with pediatric best practices.
