About the Role

The Pediatrician provides comprehensive medical services for members of family, regardless of age or sex within scope of service/training. Services include, relative to infant and child patients: Preventative care, immunizations, primary care and treatment, health education, prescribing of medications, ordering and interpreting lab testing, physical examinations, STD screenings, vision/hearing, and nutrition.. This position may be scheduled in a variety of locations depending upon the need of the organization, including occasional evening and Saturday shifts and available to travel to clinics with little to no notice to provide urgent patient needs. This position does not have hospital call or rounds. This position supervises up to four advanced practice practitioners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicates with patients, parents, and guardians regarding the health of an infant/child patient.
  • Obtains patients' medical histories and performs physical examinations.
  • Documents all findings/information.
  • Orders or executes various tests, analyses and diagnostic images/procedures to provide information on patient's condition.
  • Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination and diagnoses condition of patient.
  • Administers or prescribes treatments.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures as allowed within scope of practice.
  • Administers or prescribes treatments.
  • Meets established productivity goals.
  • When needed for patient's well-being, refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services.
  • Charts all patient transactions in accordance with policies and procedures. Documents the patient's visit, including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses and plan of action
  • Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in patient flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality.
  • Collects, interprets, and/or analyzes diagnostic data.
  • Attend required annual compliance training, and clinical practice training, which may include mandatory in-person or online sessions or combination of both.
  • As an exempt position, evening and/or weekend hours may be required to ensure the fulfillment of all duties and responsibilities.
  • Supervises up to 4 advance practice practitioners, both onsite and remotely, and sign the "Delegation of Services Agreement Between Supervising Physician and Physician Assistant/FNP and Written Supervision Guidelines".

  • Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline;
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions; and
