Job summary

Medical Health Associates of Western New York PLLC in the Buffalo area is seeking a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist to join the LLBT Healthy Weight Program for children and teens. The part-time role (approximately 10 hours to start) focuses on nutrition assessments, counseling, and family-centered education for weight management.

The ideal candidate has pediatric nutrition experience, works well in a multidisciplinary team, and uses a non-judgmental, culturally sensitive approach to care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN/RD) credential preferred/required based on program requirements.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, and families preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for children and adolescents in the Healthy Weight Program.
• Develop individualized, age-appropriate nutrition plans based on nutritional needs, health goals, lifestyle, and family circumstances.
• Provide one-on-one nutrition counseling and education to children and their parents/caregivers.
• Educate families on balanced nutrition, portion control, meal planning, healthy snacks, hydration, and positive eating behaviors.
• Help families establish realistic and sustainable nutrition and lifestyle goals.
• Monitor progress and adjust recommendations as needed.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, nurses, behavioral health professionals, physical activity specialists, and care team members.
• Document assessments, interventions, goals, and follow-ups accurately and timely.
