POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of Urology at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, is seeking an Open Rank Pediatric Urologist. The candidate should be Fellowship Trained in Pediatric Urology. This position will join our core faculty at our flagship clinical site at Tampa General Hospital (TGH). The provider will work closely with current subspecialist staff and the local outreach community.

This is a full-time, 12-month salaried faculty position with open rank and attending staff privileges at TGH, a level 1 trauma center serving south central and west Florida.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest appropriate degree in the field of specialization, with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, research, and service.
  • Must meet university criteria for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
  • For Associate/Full Professor, typically have published in refereed and professional journals and be recognized as an authority in the field.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a full unrestricted Florida Medical license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Fellowship trained in Pediatric Urology.

Teaching Duties:
  • Enhance urology residency training with a dedicated rotation focused on multidisciplinary care for complex pediatric urology patients.
  • Support resident research initiatives by discussing pediatric urology diseases and providing cohort opportunities.
  • Establish a Pediatric Urology fellowship training program within two years.
Administrative Duties:
  • Develop marketing strategies to increase clinic volume over 1, 3, and 5 years, including assessing current patient radius and volumes.
  • Evaluate revenue models to optimize billing and collections within USF and TGH care systems.
  • Secure philanthropic funding through the TGH foundation.
  • Establish a regional/national multidisciplinary pediatric urology center based at USF/TGH.
Clinical Duties:
  • Focus on improving outcomes for pediatric urology patients, emphasizing prevention.
  • Facilitate referrals from TGH ER, Brandon Healthplex, and within the patient radius.
  • Engage in community CME sessions to promote the center and faculty as regional thought leaders.

The candidate will report to a Chair or other senior administrator, responsible for teaching, research, service, and administrative activities, including academic advising and university representation.
