Position Summary

The Department of Urology at USF Morsani College of Medicine is seeking an Open Rank Pediatric Urologist. The candidate should be Fellowship Trained in Pediatric Urology. This full-time, 12-month faculty position will be based at Tampa General Hospital (TGH), a level 1 trauma center serving south central and west Florida. The role involves working with subspecialists and the local outreach community, with clinical responsibilities and academic duties.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree or highest appropriate degree in the field with a record of achievement in teaching, research, and service.
  • Meet university criteria for appointment at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank.
  • Hold or be eligible for a full unrestricted Florida Medical license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fellowship trained in Pediatric Urology.

Teaching Duties
  • Enhance urology residency by offering a rotation focused on multidisciplinary care for complex pediatric urology patients.
  • Support resident research and establish a Pediatric Urology fellowship within two years.
Administrative Duties
  • Develop marketing strategies to increase clinic volume and revenue.
  • Assess patient catchment area and volume.
  • Explore revenue models and pursue philanthropic funding.
  • Establish a regional/national pediatric urology center based at USF/TGH.
Clinical Duties
  • Focus on improving outcomes for pediatric urology patients with an emphasis on prevention.
  • Facilitate referrals from TGH ER, Brandon Healthplex, and surrounding areas.
  • Engage in community CME sessions to promote the center and faculty as regional thought leaders.
Additional Responsibilities

Report to a Chair or senior administrator, oversee teaching, research, service, and administrative activities, provide academic advising, and represent the university as appropriate.
