Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX seeks a Medical Assistant to support urology services in a full-time, day-shift role. You will prepare exam rooms, take vitals, and ensure smooth patient transitions under the physician's guidance.

Position requires BLS and an approved MA credential within 6 months; HS equivalency or 1 year of related experience acceptable. Strong documentation skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Medical Assistant credential from NHA/AMCA/AAMA/AMT/NCCT within 6 months of hire.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical flow by preparing exam rooms and prioritizing patient transitions.
• Capture the patient’s story by measuring vital signs and interviewing patients for a real-time clinical picture.
• Document diagnoses, orders and follow-up instructions accurately in the patient record.
• Manage essential supplies to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
