Job summary

PM Pediatric Care in New Jersey seeks a Registered Nurse to support pediatric urgent care operations under physician supervision. You will engage in direct patient care, obtain histories and vitals, assist with procedures, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced setting.

You will maintain exam rooms, support lab quality checks, and contribute to efficient patient flow while upholding HIPAA regulations and excellent patient service. BLS required; PALS recommended.

Qualifications

• Pediatric experience is required; Pediatric ER, Pediatric hospital unit, or Pediatrics Urgent Care Experience preferred.
• Active state nursing license or active compact state licensure from the state you reside.
• Prior experience and competency with nursing procedures (IV placement, urinary catheterization, and medication administration).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
• Obtain medical history, vital signs, intake, and prioritize patient care
• Perform procedures (venipuncture, IV insertion, urinary straight cath), administer medications (oral, rectal, IM, IV) and assist physician with total patient care
• Maintain knowledge of pediatric pharmacology
• Be an integral part of the patient care team and assist with patient care within scope
• Perform monthly quality control checks in the office
• Assist in performing quality control testing in the lab
• Assist physician with patient care during x-ray process
• Keep exam rooms stocked with medical supplies and maintain instruments
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality of patient information
• Participate in continuing education and professional development
• Assist patients with complaints and participate in service recovery when needed
• Support efficiency metrics to improve urgent care flow (Arrival to Room, Arrival to Medication, Disposition to Discharge, Discharge Length of Stay)
