Job summary

PM Pediatric Care is expanding its pediatric urgent care team, leveraging over 70 PEM providers to deliver evidence-based care in a private practice setting with on-site x-ray and lab services. Physicians evaluate and treat pediatric and young adult urgent care patients in-person and via telemedicine, under guidance of the Regional Medical Officer.

Qualifications

• Ability to critically think, multitask, and work as part of a team.
• Excellent computer skills and experience with EMR (eCW experience preferred).
• BC/BE in Pediatrics
• Urgent Care or Emergency Department experience

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat acute injury and illness for in-person and telemedicine patients.
• Perform procedural care including abscess drainage, foreign body removal, and laceration repair with sutures/staples/dermal adhesive.
• Take radiographs and provide preliminary interpretation of x-rays with official radiology over-reads where applicable.
• Oversee in-person and telemedicine patient flow and daily functions of the office along with oversight of other providers, staff, and trainees on shift.
• Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to the management team.
• Work with onsite and telemedicine teams to complete daily tasks including lab and radiology result review, patient follow-up, and timely responses to patient questions; maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations per HIPAA regulations.
• Update knowledge through internal training, continuing education, and professional activities.
• Assist the clinical team and patients with complaints and participate in service recovery when needed.
• Focus on efficiency metrics to improve in-person and telemedicine urgent care flow and patient experience.
