Cook Children’s is seeking an RN Staff Nurse for the 5 South Tower Trauma and Pre/Postoperative Unit in Fort Worth. The role focuses on pre- and postoperative pediatric care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to prepare children and families for surgery.

The position requires 1 year of direct nursing experience, an active Texas RN license, and BLS. Post-hire PALS/NRP and unit-specific certifications may be required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of direct nursing experience required.
• Active, unrestricted TX Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS - American Heart Association.
• Post hire requirements: PALS or NRP and specialty certifications per unit guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver competent, individualized nursing care using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, PAs, NPs, therapists and staff to prepare children and families for Surgery.
• Provide postoperative nursing care and patient/family education.
• Maintain safety and a high level of service excellence.
