Job summary

Nicklaushealth in Miami, FL seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide clinical services within the Rehabilitation/Therapy department. The role involves evaluation, planning, and implementation of individualized care plans for pediatric patients, with a focus on evidence-based practices and documentation accuracy.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology and FL licensure (or CFY/CCC-SLP), with BLS certification and background screening.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • FL Speech/Language Pathologist license or provisional Florida licensure - active and in good standing throughout employment.
  • American Heart Association BLS - active and in good standing throughout employment.
  • Level II fingerprint background and Good Moral Character Affidavit initiated within 15 days of hire and finalized within 90 days.
  • 2 years minimum pediatric experience preferred.
  • FLASHA membership preferred.
  • CCC-SLP certification or CFY candidate.
  • Ability to interact with patients and families, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary meetings and related meetings pertaining to patient care.
  • Maintains and documents productivity standards set by leaders.
  • Records daily patient documentation, statistics, and charges accurately and timely.
  • Ensures documentation reflects evidenced-based practices.
  • Accountable to improve access to care.
  • Conducts and interprets evaluations and provides recommendations.
  • Maintains communication with patient, caregivers, and healthcare professionals about progress and home programs.
  • Develops a plan of care with deficits, restrictions, context, and measurable goals.
  • Provides treatments based on medical, clinical, functional, and observational findings.
  • Initiates and prepares discharge planning when appropriate.
  • Provides proof of in-service training and peer review incorporating evidence-based practices.
  • Maintains ongoing CEUs for licensure and clinical excellence.
