Job summary

PDS Health in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Dental Assistant to support clinicians and deliver the Perfect Patient Experience. You will prepare patients, assist dentists, manage instruments, sterilize rooms, and coordinate with the front desk to keep the Orthodontists schedule running smoothly.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid state license or eligibility, and willingness to travel between offices as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with state-specific certification requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance; background check may be required.
• Willingness to travel to multiple offices as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform functions in accordance with the applicable state’s Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties.
• Escort patients to/from the front desk and introduce them to team members.
• Communicate with front and back office to ensure schedule runs smoothly.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments; clean operatory per infection control guidelines.
• Prepare patients for treatment and assist the dentist to enable efficient care.
• At direction, complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures as directed.
• Prepare tray setups and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory.
• Keep patient mouths dry and clear using suction devices.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
