Akron Children's is seeking a Social Worker II to provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments and support to pediatric patients and families. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to address social, emotional, and environmental factors affecting health and well-being.

The role emphasizes trauma‑informed, culturally competent care, advocacy for patient/family rights, and coordination of community resources. PRN shifts and on-site work in the Emergency Department are noted.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work required.
• Current OH Licensed Social Worker (LSW) required.
• 2 years of pediatric healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychosocial assessments for pediatric patients and families.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans.
• Assist with discharge planning and coordinating community resources.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for trauma, grief, or distress.
• Document interventions and outcomes per policy and standards.
• Advocate for patient/family-centered care and rights.
