Job summary

Carolina Pediatric Therapy in Asheville, NC is seeking a Clinic-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to support pediatric speech-language services under supervision.

You will implement therapy activities, collect data, and help children practice communication in play-based, family-centered sessions. Grow clinically with collaboration from licensed SLPs and an interdisciplinary team dedicated to children’s success.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant education program or other qualifications required for North Carolina SLP-A registration.
• Current North Carolina SLP-A registration or eligibility to obtain registration.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in accordance with North Carolina requirements.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Feeding or AAC experience is a plus, where applicable to training, competency, and the supervising SLP’s plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Implementing treatment activities and strategies established by the supervising SLP.
• Providing speech-language therapy services to pediatric clients within your authorized scope of practice.
• Helping children practice communication skills through engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Collecting and documenting data related to treatment goals and client performance.
• Communicating observations and progress with the supervising SLP; supporting family education and carryover activities as directed by the supervising SLP.
• Maintaining accurate, timely documentation and following clinic procedures.
• Collaborating with the clinical team to create a positive, supportive experience for children and families.
