Job summary

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a Night Shift Sleep Technologist to join our pediatric sleep program.

You will learn to perform routine and complex sleep studies and assist with CPAP operation under the direct supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, completion of an accredited polysomnographic training program, and the plan to obtain the RPSGT credential within one year of hire.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited polysomnographic training program.
  • Must obtain the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential within one year of hire.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification or completion within one month of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to perform routine and complex sleep studies using diagnostic techniques and equipment.
  • Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.
  • Assess patients’ clinical status, monitor progress toward goals, and assist with sleep studies and CPAP operation.
  • Accurately document and communicate patient results to support the plan of care.
  • Explain procedures and therapeutic modalities to patients and families.
  • Recognize critical situations, apply appropriate judgment, and troubleshoot equipment issues while seeking assistance when necessary.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Accredited polysomnographic training program
RPSGT credential within 1 year
AHA BLS certification within 1 month
