Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital Sleep Center is seeking a Sleep Center Technologist to perform night sleep studies and document results according to policy and procedures. You will conduct tests in the neurodiagnostic sleep laboratory and inpatient units, ensuring patient safety and clear communication with the care team.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, BLS, and RPSGT credentials, with 2+ years of pediatric polysomnography experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CAAHEP-accredited sleep program preferred.
  • STAR program/BRPT accreditation preferred.
  • BLS and RPSGT certifications required.
  • RST certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years as a sleep technologist required.
  • Pediatric polysomnography experience preferred.
  • Graduate from STAR/BRPT-backed pathway can substitute for part of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Master neurodiagnostic sleep studies for quality results.
  • Conduct tests in Neurophysiology lab and inpatient units per standards.
  • Apply electrodes accurately per international standards.
  • Independently interpret waveforms and medical terminology.
  • Score sleep studies and clinical events.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and education.
  • Maintain equipment readiness and report issues promptly.
  • Seek professional growth and educational opportunities.
