Qualifications

• Requires BS in Physical Therapy from an APTA-accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted state PT license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Proven proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and policy adherence.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to students based on physician recommendations and individual student needs.
• Follow school policies, therapy procedures, and state laws related to physical therapy and student care.
• Write clear evaluations that include student needs, goals, progress and outcomes, in coordination with the physician’s plan.
• Collaborate with teachers, school nurses, parents/guardians and other specialists to support student success.
• Communicate regularly with school staff, healthcare providers and families.
• Share knowledge and best practices as a resource for staff.
• Supervise PTAs or other aides where appropriate.
• Complete assessments and documentation for IEP as part of care planning.
