Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Physical Therapy; Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred.
• Licensure: Active New York State Physical Therapist license and registration.
• Certification: Pediatric specialty certification or relevant pediatric therapy training preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years of pediatric physical therapy, especially school-based or developmental settings.
• Industry Knowledge: Pediatric mobility, positioning, adaptive equipment, and school-based therapy practices.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized physical therapy services based on student needs, treatment plans, and educational goals.
• Develop, implement, and modify therapeutic interventions based on assessments and student outcomes.
• Assess mobility and positioning needs to promote safe participation in the school environment.
• Maintain accurate therapy notes, evaluations, and progress updates.
• Coordinate with families, educators, clinicians, and staff regarding therapy goals and safety.
• Provide guidance and training to school staff on transfers, mobility, and use of adaptive equipment.
