Qualifications

• Two year ADN or Diploma Nursing degree required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or RN to BSN program preferred.
• 3+ years of nursing experience with children in an acute pediatric setting required.
• Current State of Arizona RN license or compact state license with multistate privileges, or ability to obtain per AZ state law before start date.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider.
• Completion of SANE RN within one year of hire or transfer into the position (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing assessment of patient conditions consistent with age and condition to determine initial level of care.
• Evaluates patient responses to care and documents progress in charts.
• Contributes to team by complying with medication, storage and documentation standards.
• Provides orientation to the unit and hospital systems for patients and families.
• Supervises patient care activities of assigned team members and provides feedback.
• Collaborates with patient care team and families to implement plan of care.
• Attends MDT Case Review meetings and assists law enforcement with required paperwork for medical evaluations.
• Participates in MDT case reviews and peer review processes with the Medical Director.
