Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Pediatric Sales Specialist to promote and grow Abbott Pediatric Nutritional products in hospital and office settings within a large territory covering Southern VA and parts of North Carolina. Local candidates based in Chesapeake, Norfolk or Suffolk are preferred, with company car provided and minimal overnight travel.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of healthcare sales experience, clinical experience (RDN/RN) a plus, and a track record of sales stability and success.

Qualifications

• Stability and proven success in sales.
• Knowledge of hospital settings, pediatrics a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop territory sales goals in hospitals and doctors' offices for Abbott Pediatric Nutrition products.
• Hospital negotiations and contracting.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of products, studies, protocols and guidelines; communicate effectively in selling environment.
• Support new product launches in the territory.
• Collaborate with Dietitians, Physicians and Nurses in clinical settings.
• Manage administrative tasks and budgeting related to territory.
• Operate independently with initiative and autonomy.

Our location in Chesapeake, VA currently has an opportunity for a Pediatric Sales Specialist. This position is responsible for the promotion, management and growth of Abbott Pediatric Nutritional products in hospital and office settings.

Territory

• This is a large territory that touches Southern VA and North Carolina
• The ideal candidate should reside in Chesapeake, Norfolk or Suffolk
• This territory includes Rocky Mount, Greenville, New Bern, Elizabeth City, Norfolk, Chesapeake
• You will be driving 2-3 hours within the territory with ~1-2 overnights/month
• This position does not offer relocation. Local candidates only, please.

Responsibilities

• Developing and supporting territory sales goals in each hospital and office service area for Similac and PediaSure.
• Hospital negotiations and contracting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all products, clinical studies, protocols and guidelines as well as the ability to deliver the information in a selling environment.
• New product launches.
• An understanding of the hierarchy of hospital departments such as NICU, Pediatrics, Pharmacies, Purchasing, PICU, Nurseries and Nursing units. The ability to work effectively with Dietitians, Physicians and Nurses.
• Effective administrative skills.
• Budget management.
• Ability to function independently with a high degree of initiative, independence, and autonomy.
• Desire to be self- motivated, seeking out success at achieving both short- and long-term goals.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree required.
• The ideal candidate will be individuals with 2+ years of healthcare sales experience combined with clinical experience (Registered Dietitians and Registered Nurses).
• Stability and proven success in sales
• Subject matter expert and high business acumen
• Knowledge of hospital settings, specifically within pediatrics a plus.

The base pay for this position is $61,300.00 – $122,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
