Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for our outpatient and regional centers in Washington, Takoma Theatre, Annapolis, and Prince George’s County. The role fosters transformational leadership and collaborative care while adhering to policy, with travel to other sites as needed.

Hours vary; four shifts per month plus holiday coverage are required. The ideal candidate holds a BSN, is licensed as an RN in DC (or applicable state), and has at least two years of RN

Qualifications

• BSN from an approved school of nursing (required)
• Registered Nurse licensed in DC (required) or applicable state license
• CPR certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years RN experience (required)
• Nurse should reflect transformational leadership and professional practice standards

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care per scope of practice and hospital policy.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and escalate issues as needed through proper channels.
