Job summary

ProHealth Physicians, part of the Optum family, is seeking a full-time RN to support a pediatric care team in New London, CT. You will document patient care, provide injections and screenings, and coordinate with providers in an EHR system.

The role requires an active CT RN license with at least 1 year of nursing experience and a working knowledge of MS Office. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a 40-hour workweek with rotating shifts, including some Saturdays as outlined.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted CT RN license.
• 1+ years of nursing experience.
• Intermediate level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document patient care such as giving injections and performing preventive screenings.
• Triage patients according to approved protocols and scheduling guidelines.
• Act as a member of the care team, including preparing patients to be seen by collecting and recording clinical information as per protocol.
• Educate patients regarding their illness or injury and provide instruction regarding self-management of their condition.
• Carry out standing orders consistent with practice policies and procedures.
• Document all patient interactions and other clinical activities in the EHR.
• Coordinate outreach to patients for appointments or services and follow up after appointments.
• Answer and document patient phone calls; route messages to providers as needed using the EHR.
• Monitor task buckets and overdue orders/worklists; follow up on referrals.
• Support Regional Nurse Managers with annual CLIA competencies.
• Precept new clinical team members.
• Maintain communications with care team and Regional Management.
• Stay current with coding, OSHA and CLIA regulations and company policies.
• Adhere to patient safety initiatives and infection control regulations.
