Job summary

Lowell General Hospital, part of Tufts Medicine, invites applications for a Pediatric RN within the Community RN Career Direct Care Pathway. The role involves delivering professional nursing care under physician orders across four levels, with progression based on RN experience, education and department certifications.

The position is located at the Pediatrics Main Campus with daytime hours 7:00 AM–7:00 PM; evenings and weekends/holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN Licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to patient care may be required.
• Experience level varies by level I–IV as defined.

Responsibilities

• Participates in and maintains awareness of performance improvement initiatives.
• Conscientiously evaluates and integrates evidence-based practice into clinical practice.
• Conducts and documents accurate clinical assessments.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates the patient’s individualized plan of care.
• Uses professional nursing judgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of the patient's needs.
• Manages own patient assignment by delegating and effectively based on patient needs and skills of team members.
• Develops a comprehensive discharge plan utilizing appropriate resources and referrals including community resources.
• Supports the development of new staff members and helps facilitate their transition into unit.
• Guides the professional growth of department staff through precepting.
• Participates in departmental committees as needed.
