Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking applications for TWO full-time academic faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the Pediatric Rheumatology Division at Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). Med-peds rheumatologists are also encouraged to apply. The two HMH children’s hospitals are located in New Jersey: the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC), just 8 miles west of Manhattan, and the K Hovnanian Children's Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC) in Neptune, NJ. Excellent schools are nearby as well as easy access to New York City. HUMC is proud to be named the #1 Hospital in NJ by U.S. News and World Report six years in a row and #4 in the NY Metro Area.
The HMH Pediatric Rheumatology Division is one of the largest pediatric rheumatology programs in the NY-NJ area, with eight pediatric rheumatologists. This well-established program includes faculty members who are nationally and internationally recognized leaders and clinicians in pediatric rheumatology and research and a fellowship program. Responsibilities will include patient care, teaching and research. Effort in each area will be commensurate with the goals and strengths of the applicant.
Opportunity Highlights:
· The division includes eight board-certified pediatric rheumatology faculty (one of whom is a med peds rheumatologist), registered nurses, certified medical assistants,research nurse and coordinators, trained office staff, a child life specialist and a social worker
· Faculty members are actively involved in pediatric rheumatology research, including leading national and international studies and clinical trials in JIA, lupus, uveitis, scleroderma, autoinflammatory diseases, and vasculitis
· Referrals and close collaborations with other pediatric subspecialties at both children’s hospitals
· Pediatric Infusion Centers for intravenous administration of state-of-the-art medications
· Faculty are highly involved in curriculum design and teaching at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and the children’s hospital’s pediatric residency programs
· Faculty have opportunities to collaborate and participate in translational and basic research at the HMH Center for Discovery and Innovation
· The HMH pediatric rheumatology fellowship program is the first and only training program in New Jersey.
COMPENSATION:
Starting Base Salary: $176,374

Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in relevant skills and competencies.
Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location.
Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the specialty and/or sub-specialty.
Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
