Job summary

University of Missouri Health Care is seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist, Registered, to join the Respiratory Therapy Department. You will perform respiratory therapy procedures, participate in Code Blue, Rapid Response, and Trauma Response activities, and document interventions in the EMR.

The role emphasizes patient education, infection control, and ongoing professional development. You will also contribute to a respiratory care program that includes advanced pulmonary function testing

Qualifications

• RCP licensure by Missouri Respiratory Care board.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) NBRC certification within 1 month of employment.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) NBRC certification within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy procedures per approved protocols.
• Act as member of Code Blue, Rapid Response Team and Trauma Response Team.
• Document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Follow infection control and safety standards.
• Educate and advise patients' families on respiratory therapy procedures; provide student education.
• Participate in Department Performance Improvement Projects.
• Perform advanced pulmonary function testing and assist with bronchoscopy procedures.
• May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
