Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, assess patients, and work with physicians to determine treatment plans.

The role includes monitoring ventilation, performing diagnostic tests, and documenting care in accordance with standards. Training in ACLS and PA state requirements will be supported. Day shift at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Less than 1 year related experience.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot diagnostic equipment.
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist within 1 year; ACLS within 60 days; RCP - state of PA upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers physician prescribed respiratory therapy, including oxygen, medications, PFTs, ABGs, and ventilation.
• Performs evaluation procedures to determine care needs and assist in discharge planning.
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation and conducts rounds, troubleshooting, and weaning as needed.
• Collects and analyzes specimens for diagnosis.
• Measures lung capacity to assess impairments.
• Offers diagnostic results and treatment suggestions based on analysis.
• Communicates with the health care team to ensure continuity of care.
