Job summary

Shriners Children’s in Philadelphia is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory care under physician supervision. You will ensure orders are followed, assess patients before and after therapy, and set up therapies and life support equipment in a compliant, timely manner.

Qualified candidates hold a state RT license and BLS. Preferred candidates may have pediatric critical care experience and certifications such as PALS and ACLS.

Qualifications

• 3 Years Respiratory care practitioner
• 1 Year Pediatric Critical Care
• PALS
• ACLS

Responsibilities

• Obtain physician’s order prior to initiating therapy
• Assess patients before and after therapy
• Set up routine therapy modalities per policy
• Set up and monitor life support equipment per policy
• Perform EKGs on patients in a timely fashion
• Conduct POCT with controls and documentation; maintain licensing and accreditation requirements
