Job summary

Shriners Children’s in Philadelphia is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory care under physician supervision. You will ensure orders are followed, assess patients before and after therapy, and set up therapies and life support equipment in a compliant, timely manner.

Qualified candidates hold a state RT license and BLS. Preferred candidates may have pediatric critical care experience and certifications such as PALS and ACLS.

• Conduct POCT with controls and documentation; maintain licensing and accreditation requirements

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist administers respiratory care and life support to patients with abnormalities and deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system by prescription and under the supervision of a physician.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtains physician’s order 100% of the time prior to initiating therapy.
• Able to appropriately assess all patients before and after therapy is delivered 100% of the time.
• Sets up all routine therapy modalities according to policy and procedure 100% of the time.
• Able to set up and monitor all life support equipment according to policy and procedure 100% of the time.
• Able to set up and perform EKG’s on patients in a timely fashion.
• Able to perform all POCT including controls, proficiencies and documentation. Maintain all State and Joint Commission requirements for licensing and accreditation

Required Qualifications
