Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to facilitate and administer respiratory care for patients from neonate to adolescent. You will perform routine and complex procedures, follow hospital safety standards, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

The role requires certification and licensure as an RRT, active BLS, state license, and PALS within 6 months of hire. The position is full-time in Phoenix with variable shifts and a focus on team-based

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapist Program.
• Post-graduation hospital experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Current State of Arizona Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• AARC membership preferred.
• PALS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures per established standards and policies.
• Explains care modalities to patients, families, and the care team with clear communication.
• Interprets and communicates patient data to the team; provides thorough status reports.
• Assesses clinical status and progress; recommends action based on literature and evidence.
• Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and team-based care.
• Works effectively in a team during stressful situations and changing priorities.
• Ensures timely and accurate patient care and billing documentation.
