Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Research Technician II for pediatric cancer research, focusing on mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in acute myeloid leukemia. The role is onsite in Houston and involves mouse modeling, flow cytometry, qPCR, and related assays under supervision.

The ideal candidate is motivated, organized, team-oriented, with lab experience in flow cytometry and molecular techniques. Part-time scheduling and nonexempt status apply; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field; four years of related experience may substitute for degree.
• Excellent knowledge of English, both oral and written, is required.
• This position requires work authorization to work in the United States.

Responsabilités

• Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments - for example - conduct flow cytometry and compensation (with training), extraction of RNA, thawing of irreplaceable primary patient samples (after training), produces reliable consistent data. and analyzes data.
• Conducts literature searches related to experiment conduct and presents and records data in order to support research related decision making.
• Accurately reports and documents all results of experiments.
• Constant evaluation of the success of experiments to improve lab related processes.
• Orders supplies as needed.
• Interfaces with clinical providers - nurses, doctors and works with members of the clinical research team.
• Performs additional duties as related to accomplishing goals of the lab as needed.
