Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital is seeking an APRN to provide autonomous assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for pediatric patients and families in a collaborative setting. The role emphasizes care of unstable chronic, complex acute, and critical conditions with advanced expertise.

Required is a Master's Degree with RN licensure in AR or compact state; the position is part time and safety sensitive. The APRN will engage in direct patient care, documentation, education, and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Gathers information for new and established patients including medical history, tests, physical exams.
• Assesses patient/family physical, psychosocial, educational, and cultural needs.
• Interprets health assessment data to direct patient care.
• Provides ongoing care including appropriate pharmacologic and diagnostic treatments and education.
• Documents all health data and plan of care per policy and outcomes.
• Completes all billing codes per federal and state laws and AC policy.
• Communicates with referring physicians and hospital staff as appropriate.
• Participates in quality improvement activities to improve care and cost effectiveness.
• Disseminates research findings through practice, education, or consultation.
• Participates in AC and professional organizations to maintain expertise.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and identifies patient/family needs across physical, psychosocial, educational, and cultural domains.
• Interprets health data and directs patient care accordingly.
• Provides ongoing care with appropriate therapies and education for patients and families.

• Completes billing codes in accordance with policies and laws.
• Communicates with referring physicians and hospital staff as needed.
• Engages in quality improvement and cost‑effectiveness initiatives.
• Shares relevant research through practice, education, and collaboration.
• Maintains professional development with nursing organizations.
