Job summary

Sevita’s NeuroRestorative division is hiring a Rehabilitation Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-quality respiratory care at the Children’s Recovery Center in Colorado. The role includes direct patient care, ventilator management, documentation, and collaboration with physicians and the health-care team.

The position requires graduation from an approved respiratory therapy program (AS/BS preferred), state credentials, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved program in Respiratory Therapy; Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care Technology preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent acute care, LTACH, or hospital respiratory therapy experience preferred; critical care and ventilator management experience strongly preferred.
• Credentialing and registration as required by state.
• Ability to apply pediatric respiratory principles in the clinical setting.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to problem solve.
• BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care at the Children’s Recovery Center.
• Provide direct patient care respiratory services as assigned.
• Set up, adjust, and manage patients on continuous mechanical ventilation and monitor ventilator parameters.
• Document all therapeutic and diagnostic activities in the medical record.
• Assess the appropriateness of respiratory care orders and discuss variances with the physician.
• Develop and monitor a Respiratory Care plan based on patient assessment.
• Participate in patient rounds and communicate changes to the care team.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients/families and provide pulmonary education.
• Participate in meetings and clinical in-service education on respiratory care policies.
• Propose, develop, and help implement new techniques and procedures in respiratory care.
• Perform emergency respiratory care and CPR as needed and identify documentation improvements.
• Identify safety concerns in the department and staff.
• Provide input on staffing, equipment, and supply needs.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform quality controls on respiratory care equipment.
• Maintain clinical and professional competency according to standards
