Job summary

Sevita’s NeuroRestorative unit seeks a Respiratory Therapist to deliver direct respiratory care to subacute patients at the Children’s Recovery Center. You will plan, implement and evaluate respiratory care, serving as a resource to therapists, nurses and physicians, and participate in ongoing education and policy development.

You will assess care plans, monitor ventilation, document outcomes, and communicate changes to the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved program in Respiratory Therapy.
• Two years’ experience in respiratory care settings.
• Current California credential to practice Respiratory Care (RT) or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct respiratory care to subacute patients as assigned.
• Sets up, manages and monitors patients on mechanical ventilation.
• Documents treatment data and communicates changes to the care team.
• Participates in rounds and educates patients and families about pulmonary care.
• Responds to emergencies and maintains respiratory care equipment.
