Job summary

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the 3 West floor, a 24-bed pediatric medical-surgical unit. This full-time role covers 60 hours every 2 weeks with rotating shifts and alternating holidays/weekends.

You will support the health care team under a Registered Nurse, assisting with daily patient care tasks and ensuring unit safety. The position requires a High School Diploma, BLS, and strong comfort with pediatric patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year patient care experience preferred.
• Able to understand laboratory orders, computer information, and some medical terminology.
• Able to obtain specimens, including blood specimens, from a pediatric patient population.

Responsibilities

• Maintains stock of equipment and supplies.
• Keeps the patient care unit clean and safe.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Assists other staff with procedures as directed by RN.
• Relays information from physicians and nurses to the care team.
• Transports patients and supplies as needed.
• Protects patient privacy and maintains confidentiality.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
