Job summary

Nemours is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the 4 East Med Surg unit in Wilmington, DE. This full-time role covers every third weekend and holiday rotation, with flex holiday as needed.

Provide support to the care team under RN supervision, assisting with activities of daily living and patient care tasks. The unit emphasizes high-quality, family-centered care, accurate charting, and safe unit operations, requiring basic clinical terminology, reading/writing skills, and a current CPR/BLS

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year patient care experience preferred.
• Able to read and write accurately.
• Able to obtain specimens, including blood specimens, from a patient population that is primarily pediatric and often ill, handicapped, or restricted in some way.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily life (bath, feed, play, etc.) and provides other patient care as directed.
• Maintains adequate stock of equipment and supplies in designated areas.
• Transports patients and delivers reports, supplies, etc.
• Covers unit front desk and interacts with patients and families as needed.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and unit meetings.
• Demonstrates proficiency in care of patients of all ages.
