Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking Clinical Nurse I–III to provide direct, age-appropriate care and contribute to an integrated plan of care. The role involves safe medication administration and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Clin I–III require a nursing diploma/associate degree, Virginia RN licensure (or eligible/compact), and enrollment in an RN-to-BSN program within two years with completion within five. BLS certification is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate's Degree in nursing from an approved program.
• Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible/compact state.
• Enrollment in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of start date and completion within five years unless grandfathered.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and document direct, age-specific care based on medical orders and an integrated plan of care.
• Safely administer prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities or interactions.
• Provide direction, education, and leadership at the unit level; organize work and supervise others as applicable.
• Mobilize resources to meet individual patient/family needs and intervene as patient situations change.
• Follow Virginia nursing regulations and ANA Code of Ethics; adhere to VCUHS policies.
