Job summary

MUSC Health in Charleston, SC is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality X-ray examinations, following physician orders and established protocols across diverse imaging settings.

You will ensure accurate image acquisition, prepare contrast agents under physician supervision, and maintain patient safety, privacy, and regulatory compliance while operating radiographic equipment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• 0 to 2 years of modality-specific work experience.
• Must be ARRT registered; license from SC Radiation Quality Standards Association.
• Current BLS required (AHA or Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Ensures diagnostic images are obtained accurately and efficiently for physician interpretation.
• Prepares and administers contrast agents under physician supervision.
• Verifies patient identification, orders and clinical information prior to procedures.
• Positions patients and operates radiographic equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintains patient safety, comfort and privacy throughout examinations.
• Reviews images for quality and completeness; obtains additional images as needed.
• Follows radiation safety, departmental and regulatory standards.
• Documents examinations and patient information in electronic systems.
• Maintains equipment and work areas per department standards and infection prevention protocols.
