Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a Radiographer to perform diagnostic X-ray examinations under supervision, ensuring safety and quality across fixed and portable equipment. You will document results in EMR/PACS and prepare studies for physician reporting.

Responsibilities include image transfer, QA tasks, and potential teaching or on-call coverage. ARRT certification within 12 months and BLS are required; experience levels vary by Radiographer I–III.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited imaging/radiology program as defined by ARRT; Military program accepted.
  • No prior experience required for Radiographer I.
  • ARRT(RT) Certification required within 12 months of hire.
  • Radiographer II requires Associate's Degree and at least 3 years of experience.
  • Radiographer III requires Associate's Degree and at least 5 years of experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging on patients as ordered by a care provider in routine or emergent conditions.
  • Ensure testing is performed safely and with the highest quality standards, maintaining patient-centered care.
  • Assist with basic fluoroscopic procedures when required.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and review clinical history to align with provider-ordered tests.
  • Safely administer contrast per protocol and identify, manage, and escalate reactions and changes in patient condition.
  • Respond to inquiries from patients and family members regarding diagnostic testing and result timelines.
  • Collaborate with OU Health Providers to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Document in EMR/PACS and transfer images/data to the appropriate health system.
  • Perform quality control checks, cleaning and equipment maintenance per guidelines.
  • May mentor students and serve as preceptor; assist with onboarding.
  • May provide on-call coverage outside regular hours as assigned.
