Inova Children’s Pulmonology seeks a dedicated Pediatric Pulmonologist to join our growing team of six specialists at Inova Fairfax. We care for a diverse population of children with lung and breathing-related conditions, including a CF Center and multidisciplinary support.

Job description

Inova Children’s is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Pulmonologist to join our growing pediatric team. Inova Children’s Pulmonary is committed to building a team of 6 Pediatric Pulmonologists dedicated to caring for a diverse population of children with lung and breathing-related conditions.

Inova Children’s Pulmonary includes an accredited Cystic Fibrosis Center, which is part of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutics Development Network. The Cystic Fibrosis team includes nurse navigators, respiratory therapists, registered dietitians and clinical specialist pharmacists.

Other conditions that the team cares for within the inpatient and outpatient setting include:

• Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD)
• Home chronic ventilator management
• Neuromuscular respiratory weakness
• Severe Asthma
• Aerodigestive disorders
• Pulmonary hypoplasia and chest wall deformities
• Pediatric sleep disorders
• Interstitial lung disease
• Sickle cell-related lung disease

Integrated clinical services supporting the Inova Children’s Pulmonary division include:

• Pediatric Pulmonary Function Testing Laboratory
• Integrated aerodigestive clinical space
• Specialty pharmacy integration and clinical pharmacist support
• Inpatient and outpatient bronchoscopy capability

• Inova Children’s Complex Care integrated care management model

• Multi-disciplinary clinics, including Cystic Fibrosis, BPD, ventilator dependent, and aerodigestive clinic.

• Physicians with additional board certification/board eligibility in Sleep Medicine may have dual-practice opportunities at the Inova Children’s Sleep Center.

Inova Children’s Pulmonology will support inpatient consultative care and outpatient clinic within the following structure: Hospital coverage based on one in six service weeks. Outpatient clinic expectations are 7 half-day clinics/week.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
• Board Certification:Board eligible or board certifiedin Pediatric Pulmonology
• Training: Successful completion of pediatric residency program and successful completion of ACGME-accredited pediatric pulmonology fellowship.
• Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.
• Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
• Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
