Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC, seeks a Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to deliver comprehensive evaluation and treatment for children and adolescents with pulmonary hypertension. The APP works with pediatric cardiology teams in inpatient and outpatient settings, under designated supervision, contributing to care, teaching, and quality improvement.

Primary hours are 40 per week (1.0 FTE) with potential for partial FTE.

Qualifications

• Education: NP: completion of accredited graduate level Pediatric-Acute Care program; PA: ARC-PA accredited program.
• Licensure: NC RN with NP; NC PA license.
• Certification: NP PNP-AC; NCCPA for PA.
• Experience: 3+ years pediatrics preferred.
• Life support: BLS and PALS.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat children with pulmonary hypertension with supervising physician.
• Order and schedule labs and diagnostic procedures; explain procedures to patients.
• Coordinate care with pediatric cardiology, inpatient and outpatient teams.
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinic and quality improvement activities.
• Educate patients and families about disease states and treatment plans.
