Job summary

UCP Long Island's UCP Children's Center in Commack, NY is seeking a full-time physical therapist for a one-site, 12-month position with a 6-week summer program and all school holidays paid.

The role involves evaluating students with orthopedic, neuro-physiological, or developmental deficits; formulating treatment plans; utilizing physical agents and therapeutic techniques; communicating with parents and staff; and supervising PT assistants and students as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an APTA-accredited program.
• Two years pediatric/rehabilitation experience preferred.
• NYS License or eligibility upon graduation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates students with orthopedic, neuro-physiological and/or developmental deficits.
• Formulates and implements treatment programs based on evaluations.
• Uses physical agents, exercise, stretching, and joint mobilization as appropriate.
• Communicates procedures to parents, teachers, and staff; attends team meetings.
• Supervises PT assistants, students, and observational volunteers; documents progress.

Education

Bachelor's or higher from APTA-accredited program
